New Tornado Watch east of I-95 (including the Tri-Cities) until 9 P.M.


A Tornado Watch is in effect east of I-95 until 9 P.M. More thunderstorms crossing the region may produce damaging wind gusts to 70 mph, hail and isolated tornadoes. The watch includes the Tri-Cities, Williamsburg and Hampton Roads.

New Tornado Watch until 2 A.M....includes Metro Richmond


A new Tornado Watch is in effect until 2 A.M. for Metro Richmond, the Tri-Cities and all counties along and west of Interstate 95. Scattered strong thunderstorms are expected across the region that may produce damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, large hail and potentially isolated tornadoes.

Tornado Watch until 9 P.M. (Particularly Dangerous Situation)


A Tornado Watch is in effect until 9 P.M. for central and southern Virginia. Destructive tornadoes, large hail, damaging thunderstorm wind gusts to 70 mph and dangerous lightning are possible. This watch includes Metro Richmond, the Tri-Cities, Emporia, Williamsburg and Hampton Roads, as well as west to Farmville and Lynchburg. Conditions are favorable across this area for severe weather this afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center is calling this a "particularly dangerous situation," so please take it seriously and seek shelter when severe weather threatens.
