A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for northern Virginia, including Washington, DC & Charlottesville, until 8 P.M. Strong thunderstorms across the region may produce damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch for central & southern Virginia remains in effect until 7 P.M.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch cancelled...

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been cancelled for the Metro Richmond area and most of central Virginia, as the threat for severe weather has diminished. Strong storms that were over Hampton Roads have now moved into the Atlantic as well.

A new Tornado Watch is in effect for part of southwest Virginia, including the Danville area, until 10 P.M. tonight.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for all of central and eastern Virginia until 8:00 P.M. Strong storms developing across the region may produce damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been extended to include the City of Richmond, Hanover, Henrico, Charles City, King & Queen, Gloucester, Middlesex, King William, New Kent, James City, Mathews and York Counties.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 8 P.M. (includes Chesterfield, but not Henrico)

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 8 P.M. for Chesterfield County and points south and east. A few strong storms may contain damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail.
