A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 9 P.M. from Charlottesville to Fredericksburg & points north.  Strong thunderstorms developing across the region this afternoon & evening will contain very heavy rain & frequent lightning, along with the possibility of damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph & hail.

Flash Flood Watch in effect north & west of Richmond through Saturday morning...

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect north & west of Richmond through Saturday morning.  A slow moving cool front will produce numerous showers & thunderstorms across the region late this afternoon through tonight.  Torrential downpours in some of the storms may produce flash flooding.  Severe weather is a possibility from late afternoon through the evening, so stay tuned for any watches & warnings.
