By now, you may have heard about the Super Moon that we'll be able to see tomorrow (Saturday) night. The moon makes its closest approach to Earth in its orbit (known as "perigee") at 11:34 EDT, and just one minute later lines up with the Earth and sun to "become brilliantly full" according to NASA. While it is still over 200,000 miles away, it will appear as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full moons of 2012. That's because full moons on the perigee side of the Moon's orbit seem extra big and bright. The timing is just right.
